The show had the coolest grandparents ever. Not only was it a breath of fresh air from the conventional serials, DBD also helped change several pre-conceived notions. At a time when our parents regarded the boyfriend-girlfriend concept as 'western', it was a relief to see our favourite characters breaking the stereotype. Listing down all the reasons why I loved the show would be impossible, so I'll cut it down to 10 points. The show was addictive and way ahead of its time. From the adorable little kids to the house servant Karima, all the characters were perfectly created for the Indian audience. Emotions, comedy, family, drama, a great script - DBD had it all. Dekh Bhai Dekh - one of the longest running shows of the 90s - needs no introduction.

The screenplay is interesting. While they made iconic TV shows like Friends in the West, India too had its own little revolution of comedy content on television. The dialogs are small and witty and the writers deserves the credit. There is nothing outdoor seen in the episode and the drawing room and Kitchen of Diwan house and the bedroom of Balraj are the main places where the events are focused, the sets are convincing. Farida Jalal is of course a veteran actress and she play it effectively in this episode too. Bhavana plays chachi effectively and her childish giggles doesn’t look un-natural. Late Navin Nischol is fantastic performer. Shekhar Suman is one of the talents which are not used effectively in the films but he got some good chances on TV and he had proven his worth. Deven Bhojani plays Kareema effectively in his earlier career days showing his talent and it is no wonder that he had been part of so many sitcoms later. All the principal actors are seasoned ones and they all performed pretty well. If to talk about the background score it is definitely the positive addition to the serial. The rest of the episode explores their efforts for the same.
The situation was getting more and more suspicious and both Sameer and Balraj decided to know the root cause of the same and resolve it. They got to know from Kareema that they went out for something and didn’t let him know the reason! When on the dining table for the breakfast it was probably the first time they were both alone (and Chachi and Bhabhi are both in the city). Both of them have tried remembering if they could have forgotten any important date like birth-date, anniversary or similar, but no luck. Both of them were shocked be the fact that since the morning their respective wives are behaving strange and found non-cooperative to them. Somu was kicked out from the bathroom, and Balraj was struggling with socks from different pairs when getting ready for the office. The next morning is started as a shocking one for for both Somu and Balraj. And the idea behind the institution of marriage is providing unconditional support to each other in all the situations, physically, mentally, economically and all the other means. It is not like, only one is doing all the duties and other is having all the rights. When there is true love, a couple lives like a soul into dual bodies. But it is the strong love and affection in them which makes both to look and care for the other then to herself/himself. Both are equal and both have all the rights to have their personal space and preferences also. Well, as a matter of fact, there is no one in a couple is secondary. So she asked Suhasini and Chachi to came out of the box and live their lives as per their personal desires and not as the secondary person in the couple. We see that Kareema is having his own attitude, and she don’t think that as male-servant he should have it. During her visit at Diwan House she see that Both Suhasini (whom she loves calling Hansini – as she was used to call her during their student days) and Sunita aka Chachi both are living their lives which are centered around their family and especially their respective husbands. And, she doesn’t look natural due to that.īela have her own ideas and ideology about the – women’s empowerment and liberation. It is worth to note that despite her efforts in acting naturally, she is let down by her dialog delivery. Kalpana Iyer (aka Kalpana Ayyer) plays the role of Bela in this episode. Her visit proves to be a dramatic “change movement” at Diwan house. Sushma Seth, N K Shivpuri, Navin Nischol, Farida Jalal, Shekhar Suman, Bhavna Balsavar, Amar Upadhyay, Deven Bhojani, Vishal Singh, Nattasha Singh, Sunny Singh, Karishma Aacharya, Rakesh Thareja, Daisy Irani, Liliput, Divya Sheth, Benu Kalsi, Shammi, Urvashi Dholakiya, Santosh Gupta, Ritu Sharma, Raju Shrivastav, and others…īela – a school friend of Suhasini Diwan who was settled in HongKong came to visit India, and during her stay at India, she pays a visit to Suhasini at Diwan House.
